Up to 30 characters

Shorter is better: a handle under 15 characters is easier to say, type and fit on packaging.

Letters, numbers, periods and underscores

No spaces, dashes or other symbols. The generator removes them for you.

No period at the start or end

Instagram also refuses two periods in a row. The generator avoids both.

Checking availability

Instagram doesn’t offer a public way to check names, so each idea opens the profile address. A “page isn’t available” message usually means it’s free.
