Shopify for furniture stores

I build Shopify furniture stores that answer the questions behind a big purchase: size, materials, delivery, warranty, returns and how to pay. Every build gets a fixed quote after a free review.

A sofa is a considered purchase

People don't impulse-buy a dining table. They measure the room, compare fabrics, check delivery dates, read the returns policy and work out how to pay, often over several visits. A furniture store that wins those visits puts every answer on the product page, next to the price, instead of on an FAQ page nobody opens.

That's how I built Ricrac Shop, an Egyptian-made furniture and home brand selling in English and Arabic with a right-to-left layout. The full build has room- and product-led navigation, a "Ready to Ship" range, and product pages that put installments, delivery estimates, warranty, returns and reviews where buyers decide. I also did the speed and SEO work.

Furniture catalogs bring their own data problems. A sofa might come in four sizes, twelve fabrics and three leg finishes, which used to break Shopify's old cap of 100 variants per product. Shopify now allows up to 2,048 variants per product, as checked on 7 November 2026, but a long fabric list still needs visual swatches rather than a dropdown. I usually separate made-to-order and ready-to-ship versions, so every delivery promise on the page is one you can keep.

Big items change shipping too. Flat rates by zone, two-person or white-glove delivery and local delivery from your warehouse work better than carrier rates by weight, and Shopify shipping profiles keep sofas and cushions on different rates. Dimensions, materials, care and assembly details belong in metafields, and a 3D model lets a shopper check that an armchair fits the corner. Pay-later messaging matters on high-ticket orders: Shop Pay Installments covers the US, Canada and the UK, with Australia in early access.

Where furniture stores lose sales

  • Dimensions and materials are hidden in a long description.
  • Delivery time and cost only appear at checkout.
  • Made-to-order and in-stock pieces look the same, so delivery promises slip.
  • Installment options aren't mentioned until the payment step.
  • Fabric choices are a dropdown of names with no swatches.

What I build for furniture stores

Room and product navigation

Menus and collections by room and by product type, with filters for size, material, color and price.

Decision-ready product pages

Dimensions, materials, delivery estimate, warranty, returns and reviews placed beside the price and the buy button.

Fabric and finish swatches

Visual swatches tied to variant images, with up to 2,048 variants per product when a range needs it.

Ready-to-ship and made-to-order

Separate collections and lead-time messages for stock pieces and made-to-order pieces, so every promise is accurate.

Delivery by zone or service

Shipping profiles for bulky items, with flat rates by zone, white-glove options or local delivery from your warehouse.

Installments and AR views

Pay-later messaging where your payment provider offers it, plus 3D models shoppers can view in their room.

Why build with me

01

How a furniture store build works

  1. 1

    Free review and fixed quote

I look at your range, delivery setup and markets, then send three points on what needs care and a fixed quote.

  2. 2

    Catalog and delivery plan

We map sizes, fabrics, finishes and lead times, and agree delivery zones and services before import.

  3. 3

    Build and test

Theme, product templates, swatches, shipping profiles, payments and emails are built and tested on a development store.

  4. 4

    Launch and measure

The store goes live, and I check checkout, delivery rates and page speed, then watch where shoppers drop off.

Is this the right fit

A good fit

  • You make or sell furniture online, from a few ranges to hundreds of pieces.
  • Your products come in several sizes, fabrics or finishes.
  • You deliver bulky items yourself or through a specialist carrier.
  • You want installments, warranty and delivery shown before checkout.
  • You want one fixed quote.

Not the right fit

  • You need fire-safety or tip-over testing. That's a job for an accredited test lab.
  • You run a marketplace for many furniture makers, which needs a different setup.
  • You need warehouse or routing software built. I connect apps, I don't build logistics systems.

Your questions, answered.

What furniture brands ask before starting a Shopify project.

Ask me about your store
What's the best Shopify theme for a furniture store?

Pick a theme that handles large images, swatches, filters and rich product pages without slowing down. The theme matters less than the product template: dimensions, delivery, warranty and payment options next to the price. I build those sections into whichever theme suits your range.

How much does a Shopify furniture store cost?

Store design and development starts from $300. Large variant ranges, delivery zones, 3D models, installments and a second language add to the scope. You get one fixed quote after a free review.

Can Shopify handle sofas with many sizes and fabrics?

Yes. Since October 2025, Shopify allows up to 2,048 variants per product, up from 100. For very large fabric ranges I still use swatches and sometimes split a range into linked products, so pages stay fast and easy to use.

How do I charge for delivering large items?

Put bulky products in their own shipping profile with flat rates by zone, or offer local delivery from your warehouse, with zones set by postal code or radius. White-glove delivery and assembly can be paid add-ons. Showing the delivery cost on the product page avoids surprises at checkout.

Can customers pay in installments?

Yes, through pay-later providers that work with your Shopify payments setup. Shop Pay Installments covers the US, Canada and the UK, with Australia in early access, as checked on 7 November 2026. I show the installment message on the product page, not only at checkout.

Can my store run in Arabic or another right-to-left language?

Yes. Ricrac Shop runs in English and Arabic with a right-to-left layout. Good right-to-left work mirrors menus, sliders, icons and forms, not just the text direction, so I test every template in both directions.

Should I show ready-to-ship pieces separately?

Usually, yes. A ready-to-ship collection with real stock and short delivery times catches buyers who need furniture now, while made-to-order pages show honest lead times. Mixing the two without labels is how delivery complaints start.
