Overview
Leaving Wix without losing ground
Wix is easy to start on, and store owners usually leave it for the same reasons: limited checkout and app options, slow product pages on mobile, or a catalog that has outgrown Wix Stores. I'm a Shopify developer and CRO specialist and a Shopify Select Partner, so I'm biased towards Shopify. If your site is mostly pages with a handful of products, read my Shopify vs Wix comparison before you commit to a move.
Products and customers transfer cleanly. Wix exports both as CSV files, and Shopify's free Store Migration app imports them. As checked on 7 November 2026, Shopify's Wix guide lists the limits: each Wix product export holds up to 5,000 rows, products with four or more options import without their variants, digital products can't be exported, and imported products arrive as drafts. I rebuild the products that would import broken instead of publishing them as they land.
Content needs more care. Wix states that it's currently not possible to export blog posts to other platforms, and reviews can't be exported either. My team moves posts with their images, headings and meta descriptions, and brings reviews into a Shopify review app. Customer passwords never transfer between platforms, so customers set a new one or sign in with a one-time email code on Shopify's new customer accounts. Order history needs a third-party app.
Redirects protect your traffic. Wix product pages sit under /product-page/ by default, while Shopify uses /products/. I map every old product, category, page and blog URL to its new address, import the 301 redirects before the domain moves, then check your most-visited pages in Search Console after launch. Every migration gets a fixed quote after a free 3‑point review.
Signs it's time to move
- Product pages load slowly on phones and the editor can't fix it.
- You need apps, subscriptions or B2B features Wix doesn't offer.
- Your catalog has outgrown simple categories and filters.
- You want to sell abroad with local currencies and prices.
- Small changes keep needing workarounds in the Wix editor.
What the migration includes
Product and variant import
Products, variants, prices, SKUs, stock and images mapped from the Wix CSV to Shopify's format, then checked against the old store.
Customer import
Customer records and addresses moved with email consent kept exactly as it was, so nobody who unsubscribed gets marketing.
Blog posts and pages
Wix has no blog export, so posts and pages are moved by hand with their images, headings and meta descriptions.
301 redirect map
Every old product, category, page and blog URL redirected to its Shopify match and imported before the domain switch.
Theme build
Your store rebuilt on a Shopify theme in your brand style, set up for mobile first and kept light on apps.
Reviews, apps and domain
Reviews moved into a review app, Wix features replaced with Shopify settings or apps, and the domain moved without SSL errors.
Benefits
Why Wix owners move with me
Checked, not just imported
Import tools report success even when variants or images go missing. My team compares the old and new store product by product.
SEO is part of the job
Redirects, titles, meta descriptions and alt text move with the content, because a migration that loses search traffic isn't finished.
Built to sell
I'm a CRO specialist, so the new store is set up to convert from launch day, not only to match the old design.
How it works
How the migration works
- 1
Free 3‑point review
Send your Wix URL. I look at your catalog, content and traffic, and point out the three things that matter most in your move.
- 2
Plan and fixed quote
I list what moves, how it moves and what changes, then give you a fixed quote and timeline. Nothing starts until you agree.
- 3
Build and import
My team builds the Shopify store, imports and checks your data and prepares the redirect map while Wix keeps taking orders.
- 4
Launch and check
We switch the domain, test redirects and checkout with real orders, and watch Search Console for errors after launch.
Is it a fit?
Is this migration right for you
A good fit
- You sell physical products on Wix Stores and plan to grow.
- Search traffic brings you sales and you can't afford to lose it.
- You want one accountable person, not a ticket queue.
- You want the move to improve conversion, not only copy the old site.
Not the right fit
- Your site is mainly a portfolio or booking site with a few products. Wix may suit you better.
- You want the cheapest copy and paste, with no redirects or checks.
- You need the store moved by tomorrow.

| Passwords | Wix member logins | Not transferable |
| Blog | No export option | Moved post by post |
| Reviews | Not exportable | Added to a review app |
| Apps | Wix App Market | Shopify apps or built-in features |

FAQ
Migration questions, answered.
What store owners ask before moving to Shopify.
Ask me about your storeHow much does a Wix to Shopify migration cost?
There's no set price, because no two Wix stores are the same size. After a free 3‑point review I give you a fixed quote based on product count, variants, blog posts, customer data and the features to rebuild. The quote only changes if the scope does.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Rankings can dip briefly after any platform move, but lasting losses usually come from broken links and missing content. I redirect every old URL with a 301, keep titles and meta descriptions, and submit the new sitemap in Search Console. Nobody can promise rankings, and I won't.
Can my customers keep their passwords?
No. Passwords are encrypted, and Shopify can't import them from any platform. Customer records move, and customers either set a new password or, on Shopify's new customer accounts, sign in with a one-time code sent to their email.
Can you move my Wix blog?
Yes, but not with an export button. Wix says it's currently not possible to export blog posts to other platforms, so posts are moved one by one with images, headings and meta descriptions, then each old post URL is redirected.
What happens to my order history?
Shopify's Wix guide points to third-party apps such as Cart2Cart, LitExtension and EZ Importer for past orders. I import them when you need them for customer service or accounting. Order notifications are switched off first, so staff don't get an email for every old order.
Should I keep my Wix plan during the move?
Yes, until launch day. Your Wix site keeps taking orders while the Shopify store is built and checked. Once the domain points to Shopify and redirects are live, download any final exports and then cancel Wix.
Can you move my domain from Wix?
Yes. You can keep the domain where it's registered and point it to Shopify, or transfer it. Shopify advises disconnecting it from Wix first to avoid SSL certificate errors, and I time the switch so the redirects are already in place.
Will my store look the same?
It can, but it rarely should. I rebuild your design on a Shopify theme in your brand style and fix what was costing sales, such as slow product pages or a cluttered mobile menu. You approve the design before anything goes live.
