Overview
What a proper setup actually covers
Opening a Shopify account takes a few minutes. Shopify's own getting-started guide, as checked on 7 November 2026, begins with three steps: add a product, choose a theme and set up a domain. The settings that decide whether the store can sell properly come after that: payments, shipping rates, taxes, policies, notifications, collections and a theme that suits your products. This service covers all of it, so you launch a store that works rather than a store that's merely open.
I import your products by CSV with variants, images and SEO titles, group them into collections and build the menus. I help you pick a theme and test it with your own products first, because Shopify states that paid themes are non-refundable. Then I set up payments, shipping zones and taxes for every country you sell to. Shopify can calculate most common sales taxes automatically, but it doesn't register or file for you unless you use Shopify Tax with automated filing, so I match the settings to the registrations you actually hold: VAT and OSS in the EU, UK VAT, GST in Australia or US sales tax.
Policies start from Shopify's automated templates, which stay in sync with your store settings. Shopify says those templates aren't legal advice, so you review them before launch. Finally, I place test orders through Shopify's test payment gateway or Shopify Payments test mode. They aren't charged, and live orders can't go through while test mode is on, so this happens before the password comes off. Work through the store launch checklist to see everything I check.
A specialist team, led by me, does the work, and I'm your single point of contact. Setup starts from $250, with a fixed quote in writing after a free review. If you need a fully custom design rather than setup, store design and development starts from $300. For the Shopify side of your budget, see what a Shopify store costs.
Signs you need this
- You've opened a Shopify account, but the store still isn't live.
- Payment, shipping and tax settings feel like guesswork.
- You sell to more than one country and aren't sure how VAT, GST or sales tax should be set up.
- Your products sit in a spreadsheet, not in Shopify.
- You'd rather spend launch weeks on stock and marketing than on settings.

Benefits
Why set up with me
Settings done in the right order
Markets, taxes, shipping and payments depend on each other, so I set them up together and you don't fix one and break another.
The store stays yours
The store is on your account, in your name. I work through a collaborator account, which you control and can remove at any time.

How it works
How it works
- 1
Free review and fixed quote
You tell me what you sell, where and to whom. I send three points on what needs care, then a fixed quote and timeline in writing.
- 2
Plan and access
We agree the theme, catalogue structure and markets, then I request collaborator access using the 4-digit code you give me.
- 3
Build and configure
Products, collections, theme, payments, shipping, taxes, domain, emails and policies are set up while the store stays password protected.
- 4
Test and launch
Test orders, mobile checks and a final settings review, then the password comes off and I check the first live orders with you.
Is it a fit?
Is this service right for you
A good fit
- You know what you're selling and want the store built properly the first time.
- You sell, or plan to sell, in the UK, EU, US or Australia and want tax and shipping set up correctly.
- You have more products than you want to add one by one.
- You want one fixed quote and one person accountable for the whole setup.
- You want to run the store yourself after launch, with notes on how.
Not the right fit
- You haven't decided what to sell yet, so a store setup would be premature.
- You want a fully custom theme designed from scratch, which is a custom theme project.
- You want someone to run your ads after launch. I don't offer ad management.

FAQ
Your questions, answered.
What store owners ask before starting this kind of project.
Ask me about your storeHow much does a Shopify store setup service cost?
It starts from $250. The exact price depends on how many products you have, how many countries you sell to, which apps you need and how much the theme needs customising. I review your plans for free and send one fixed quote in writing. Your Shopify plan is billed separately by Shopify.
How long does a store setup take?
It depends mostly on the size of the catalogue and the number of markets. A small catalogue for one country moves much faster than thousands of products sold in four regions. The timeline is written into the quote, so you know the launch date before work starts.
Do I need to buy a paid theme?
No. Shopify's free themes suit many stores. Shopify states that paid themes are non-refundable, so if a paid theme looks like a better fit, I test it with your products before you buy it.
Will the store be in my name?
Yes. You open the Shopify account and keep ownership. I work through a collaborator account, which doesn't count towards your store's user limit, and you can change its permissions or remove it whenever you like.
Can you set up a store that sells to several countries?
Yes. I set up markets, shipping zones and tax settings for each country. Shopify can calculate most common sales taxes, but it doesn't register you or file returns unless you use Shopify Tax with automated filing, so check your registrations with your accountant first.
Can you write my store policies?
I set up Shopify's automated policies and fill in the details from your store settings. Shopify says these templates are for information only and aren't legal advice, so you, or a lawyer, should review them before launch.
I've already started building my store. Can you finish it?
Yes. I review what's already there, keep what works and quote only for what's left. Half-built stores often just need the tax, shipping and payment settings finished and tested.
What happens after launch?
You get notes on running the store day to day. If you want ongoing help with theme updates, apps and fixes, my maintenance and support plan covers that, quoted separately.
