Overview
Apps that work together, not against
Most Shopify stores run on a stack of apps: reviews, email, subscriptions, shipping, accounting, sometimes an ERP or a warehouse system. Each one is easy to install on its own. The trouble starts when they overlap, when two apps write to the same field, or when stock in Shopify stops matching stock in the warehouse. A Shopify app integration project gets all of them working as one system, with a clear owner for every type of data.
I start with what's already installed. As checked on 7 November 2026, Shopify's install screen splits an app's access into two groups, view personal data and view and edit store data, and most people click through it. I list every app, what it can access, what it costs each month and what it overlaps with. Shopify also notes that some apps add code to your theme that isn't removed automatically when you uninstall them, and that some apps keep data you can't recover afterwards. So removals are planned: data exported first, then the app uninstalled, then the leftover code cleaned out of the theme. My guide to auditing and removing unused apps covers the same checks.
New apps are added the clean way. Where an app supports theme app extensions, its blocks go in through the theme editor rather than pasted code, which Shopify describes as letting merchants add app features without editing theme code. Repeat tasks such as order tagging, stock alerts and internal notifications often don't need a paid app at all: Shopify Flow is free on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans, and I build those workflows there.
When no app does what you need, I say so and quote the alternative. Custom app development starts from $800, and AI and automation work starts from $600. The app setup and integration work itself starts from $100, with a fixed quote in writing after a free review.
Signs you need this
- Orders, stock or customer details are copied by hand between systems.
- Two apps do the same job and you pay for both.
- An app was removed months ago but its code still loads on your store.
- Stock levels in Shopify don't match your warehouse or accounting system.
- Nobody can say which apps have access to customer data.
What the service includes
App audit
Every installed app listed with what it does, the access it has, its monthly charge and any overlap with other apps.
Installation and configuration
Apps installed with their permissions reviewed first, then set up to match your workflow, taxes, shipping and markets.
Theme integration
App blocks placed through the theme editor where the app supports theme app extensions, styled to match your store.
System connections
Shopify connected to accounting, ERP, fulfilment, email or review tools through their official apps or APIs, with field mapping checked on test orders.
Shopify Flow automations
Repeat tasks such as tagging, alerts and stock notifications built as Flow workflows, so you don't pay for a separate app.
Clean app removal
Data exported, unused apps uninstalled and leftover theme code removed, tested on a duplicate theme first.
Benefits
Why set up apps with me
Tested with real orders
Every integration is checked with test orders, refunds and edge cases before it touches live data, so problems show up before customers see them.
An honest app or code decision
I also build custom apps, so I have no reason to push either route. You get the cheaper option that does the job.

How it works
How it works
- 1
Free review and fixed quote
I list your apps and the systems you want connected, flag three risks I see, then send a fixed quote and timeline.
- 2
Plan the data flow
We agree which system owns products, stock, orders and customers, and which way each sync runs.
- 3
Set up and test
Apps are installed and configured, theme changes made on a duplicate theme, and test orders run from checkout to accounting.
- 4
Go live and monitor
Everything is switched on, I watch the first days of live orders sync across, and fix any mismatch straight away.
Is it a fit?
Is this service right for you
A good fit
- You run several apps and suspect overlap, wasted charges or leftover code.
- You need Shopify to share data with an accounting, ERP, warehouse or marketing system.
- You want routine tasks automated without hiring a full-time developer.
- You want one fixed quote and one person accountable for the result.
- You sell in the US, UK, EU or Australia and need apps set up for local taxes, shipping or payments.
Not the right fit
- The system you want to connect has no Shopify app and no API access.
- You want a new public app built for the Shopify App Store. That's custom app development.
- You only need one simple free app installed, and its own setup guide covers it.

FAQ
Your questions, answered.
What store owners ask before starting this kind of project.
Ask me about your storeHow much does Shopify app integration cost?
It starts from $100. The exact price depends on how many apps and systems are involved and how much data mapping each connection needs. I review your setup for free and send a fixed quote in writing. If a custom app is needed, that starts from $800, and AI and automation work starts from $600.
Can you connect Shopify to my accounting system or ERP?
Usually, yes, if the system has a Shopify app or an API. I check this during the free review, agree which system owns stock and orders, and test the connection with real test orders before it goes live.
What happens to my data when an app is removed?
Shopify notes that some apps store data you can't recover after uninstalling, so I export what you need first. Uninstalling a paid app cancels future recurring charges, but you may still be billed for the current cycle, and charges taken outside Shopify have to be cancelled with the developer.
Why is old app code still on my store?
Shopify states that some apps add code to your theme that isn't removed automatically when you uninstall them. I find that code, remove it on a duplicate theme, test the store, then publish the clean version.
Should I use an app or get a custom app built?
Use an app when one does at least most of the job at a fair monthly cost. A custom app makes sense when you'd need several apps stacked together, or when your process is specific to your business. I give you both options with costs before you decide.
Is it safe to give you access to my store?
I work through a collaborator account, so you never share your own login. Shopify states that installing a custom app from a collaborator account needs the Manage and install apps and channels permission, with Approve app charges also turned on, so you decide exactly what that account can do.
What is Shopify Flow?
Shopify Flow is Shopify's automation app, free on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans. Workflows are built from triggers, conditions and actions. Grow, Advanced and Plus stores can also use its Send HTTP Request action to talk to other systems.
Do apps slow down my store?
Apps that load scripts on your storefront add to every page they run on. During the audit I check which apps load where and remove what isn't earning its place. Fewer scripts usually means a lighter store, and the app register shows you exactly what each one adds.
