Shopify for oral care and health brands
I build Shopify stores for oral care and health products that explain how the product works, show every ingredient, sell multipacks and refills, and keep claims inside the rules for cosmetics, drugs and food. You get a fixed quote after a free review.

Overview
Oral care buyers want the reasons
People switching toothpaste or trying a functional gum are changing a habit they've had for years, so they want to know why. Which ingredients does it use instead of the usual ones, what does each one do, how long before they notice a difference, and is it right for the whole family? An oral care product page has to answer those questions in order and in plain language, without drifting into claims the product can't legally make.
That was the brief for Nordic Gum USA, an oral-care brand selling remineralizing chewing gum and nano toothpaste, where I did the full build. The homepage tells the product story. The product page uses bundle tiers, an ingredient breakdown and a 60-day results timeline, so a buyer sees the value of a bigger pack, what's inside and what to expect over time. The homepage hero can run campaigns such as Black Friday without a rebuild.
The rules in this category depend on the product and the market. In the US, a fluoride toothpaste is both a cosmetic and an OTC drug and needs Drug Facts labeling, and the claims you make can turn any oral care product into a drug. In the EU, nano ingredients have to be notified before sale and marked [nano] in the ingredient list. In Great Britain, cosmetics need a UK-based Responsible Person and a notification before they go on sale. Gum is food, so its health claims follow the food claims rules instead.
On Shopify I build this with metafields for each ingredient and its role, variants or a bundles app for multipack tiers, Shopify Subscriptions for refills, and homepage sections your team can switch to a new campaign from the theme editor. Claims sit in dedicated fields, so your adviser can review every one in a single pass.
Where health product stores lose buyers
- The page lists ingredients but never says what each one does.
- Buyers can't see why the three-pack is better value than one.
- Nothing tells buyers what to expect, or when.
- Every seasonal sale needs a developer to rebuild the homepage.
- Claims differ from page to page and nobody has checked them all.
What I build for oral care and health brands
Ingredient breakdowns
Each ingredient, its role and its amount stored as metafields and shown as a clear breakdown on the product page.
Bundle tiers
Single, multipack and family tiers with the saving per unit shown, built with variants or a bundles app.
Refill subscriptions
Shopify Subscriptions for toothpaste and gum refills on a schedule, with skip, pause and cancel in the customer account.
What-to-expect timelines
A timeline section that sets expectations week by week, written in your approved wording.
Campaign-ready homepage
Hero and banner sections that switch to a launch or holiday offer from the theme editor, without a rebuild.
Claims in one place
Benefit statements and disclaimers kept in dedicated fields, so every claim on the site can be reviewed at once.
Benefits
Why health brands hire me
I've built in this category
I did the full build for the oral-care brand in the case study above, so I know how much explaining these product pages have to do.
Conversion and compliance together
As a CRO specialist I build pages that persuade with clarity, and I flag claims for your adviser instead of pushing them further.

How it works
How a health products store build works
- 1
Free review
I look at your products, ingredients, claims and current store, then send three points and a fixed quote.
- 2
Story and structure
We agree on the product story, ingredient breakdown, bundle tiers and timeline before design starts.
- 3
Build and test
Theme, metafields, bundles, subscriptions, campaign sections and emails are built and tested on phones first.
- 4
Launch and handover
The store goes live, and I show your team how to switch campaigns on and off without me.
Is it a fit?
Is this the right fit
A good fit
- You sell toothpaste, gum, mouthwash or other health and personal care products under your own brand.
- Your product needs explaining: new ingredients, a new routine or a different approach.
- You want multipack tiers and refill subscriptions set up properly.
- You run seasonal campaigns and want to manage them yourself.
Not the right fit
- You sell prescription products or medical devices that need a pharmacy or clinical setup.
- You need product registration or label approval: that's a specialist adviser's job.
- You want claims that go further than your evidence: I build around what you can support.
Comparison
Rules to get right, by country
| Aspect | What applies | On your Shopify store |
|---|---|---|
| US: fluoride toothpaste | Both a cosmetic and an OTC drug, so it needs Drug Facts labeling. | Drug Facts shown as text on the product page. |
| US: intended use | Claims to prevent disease can make an oral care product a drug. | Claims kept in fields your adviser reviews. |
| US: cosmetics (MoCRA) | Facility registration and product listing with FDA; some small businesses are exempt. | Ingredient text kept identical to your FDA listing. |
| UK: cosmetics notification | A UK-based Responsible Person notifies each product on SCPN before it goes on sale. | GB launch held until notifications are done. |
| UK: health claims on gum | Only claims authorized in the Great Britain NHC register may be used. | Gum benefit copy matched to your approved claims. |
| EU: nanomaterials | Nano ingredients notified six months before sale and listed with [nano] in ingredients. | [nano] kept in ingredient text on EU pages. |

FAQ
Your questions, answered.
What oral care and health products brands ask before starting a Shopify project.
Ask me about your storeCan I sell health products on Shopify?
Yes, within the rules where you sell. Shopify Payments doesn't support products making health claims that no regulator has verified, and it lists prescription medication and medical devices as prohibited, so I check your range against that during the free review.
How should a toothpaste product page be structured?
In the order buyers ask: what it does, what's in it and why, how to use it, what to expect and when, then price and pack options. Drug Facts or the full ingredient list goes on the page as text, and bundle tiers sit next to the add-to-cart button.
Do I need different pages for the US and EU?
Often, yes. A claim allowed in one market may not be allowed in another, and EU ingredient lists must mark nano ingredients. Shopify Markets lets each market have its own content and product availability, so I set up market-specific copy where your rules differ.
Can customers subscribe to refills?
Yes. Shopify's free Subscriptions app handles weekly, monthly or yearly refills with discounts, and customers can skip, pause or cancel from their account. I set the frequency to match how long a tube or pack lasts.
Can my team run campaigns without a developer?
Yes. I build homepage and banner sections that switch to a new offer from the theme editor, and discounts can be scheduled with start and end dates in the Shopify admin. That's how a Black Friday push goes live without a rebuild.
How much does a health products store cost?
Store design and development starts from $300. Bundles, subscriptions, several markets and custom sections add to the scope, so every project gets a fixed quote after a free review.
Will you check my product claims?
I flag claims that look risky and keep them in one place so they're easy to review, but I'm not a regulatory adviser. For what you can say about your exact products, check with an adviser before launch.
