Shopify for tech accessories
Shopify for phone and tech accessories
I build Shopify stores for phone and tech accessory brands where shoppers find the case, charger or cable that fits their exact device in a few taps, and battery items ship on services that accept them.

Overview
The fit question comes first
Every accessory sale starts with one question: will this fit my phone? The shopper arrives knowing their model, say an iPhone 16 Pro or a Galaxy S25, and wants to see only the cases, screen protectors and chargers that work with it. If they have to read a compatibility list in each description, they leave and search a marketplace instead.
So I build these stores device-first. That's how I structured 123TelecomShop, a Dutch store selling smartphones, cases and accessories in Dutch plus 10 languages: collections are organized by device and by accessory type, so a shopper finds a case for their exact model fast, and the large catalog is kept fast as it grows.
Under the hood, each device is a metaobject (brand, series, model), and each product holds a list of the devices it fits. One USB-C cable can then fit dozens of phones without being listed dozens of times, and the same data drives a device filter, a "fits these models" block on the product page and your Google Shopping feed. Chargers and cables get their own spec fields: wattage, connector, cable length and charging standard. For cases there's a real decision to make: one product per phone model ranks better for searches like "iPhone 16 Pro case", while one product with model variants keeps reviews together. I decide that with you based on how your range is built.
Two things are easy to miss. Power banks are loose lithium batteries, and carriers restrict them: USPS takes them by ground only, and Australia Post won't fly them. I put battery items in their own Shopify shipping profile so they can't be sent on a service that refuses them. And order values in this trade are low, so a case plus screen protector bundle and a cart add-on do a lot of work. Every build gets a fixed quote after a free review.
Where accessory stores lose sales
- Shoppers can't filter the catalog by their exact phone model.
- One cable is listed five times, once for each device it fits.
- Power banks ship on a service that doesn't accept loose batteries.
- Most orders are a single case, with no screen protector added.
- Returns pile up because the case didn't fit the phone.
What I build for accessory stores
Device finder
A brand, series and model selector that filters every collection, built on a metaobject for each device.
Compatibility data
Compatibility stored once per product and shown as a clear list of the models it fits, on the page and in filters.
Specs for chargers and cables
Wattage, connector type, cable length and charging standard shown as specs, so shoppers compare without reading descriptions.
Battery-aware shipping
A separate shipping profile for power banks and battery items, limited to the carriers and services that accept them.
Bundles and cart add-ons
Case and screen protector bundles built with Shopify Bundles, plus add-ons offered in the cart before checkout.
A fast large catalog
Image sizes, app count and filters tuned so thousands of products load quickly on a phone.
Benefits
Why build your accessory store with me
I've built device-first navigation
123TelecomShop's collections are organized by device and accessory type, so I start from a structure I've already built for this trade.
CRO and speed in one team
I run CRO and speed work as well as builds, so add-ons, bundles and page speed are part of the plan, not a later project.

How it works
How an accessory store build works
- 1
Free review and fixed quote
I look at your range, device coverage, supplier data and markets, send three points on what needs care, then a fixed quote.
- 2
Device and compatibility model
Device metaobjects, compatibility fields and spec fields are set up, and your products are mapped to the devices they fit.
- 3
Build and test
Theme, device finder, bundles, shipping profiles and Markets are built, then tested on phones with your full catalog.
- 4
Launch and new-device routine
The store goes live, and you get a simple routine for adding each new phone model the day it's announced.
Is it a fit?
Is this the right fit
A good fit
- You sell cases, screen protectors, chargers, cables or audio accessories.
- Your range covers many phone models, so a device finder matters.
- You sell power banks or other battery items and ship to several countries.
- You want to raise order value with bundles and add-ons.
- You want one fixed quote for the build.
Not the right fit
- You sell a few accessories for one device and a simple theme covers it.
- You need me to source products or test chargers. That sits with your supplier and a lab.
- You want ad management. I don't offer it, though I build the pages ads land on.
Comparison
Rules to get right, by country
| Aspect | What applies | On your Shopify store |
|---|---|---|
| EU: USB-C common charger | Since 28 December 2024, new phones, earbuds, keyboards, mice and speakers need USB-C charging. | Charging port shown in specs; older stock flagged. |
| US: mailing lithium batteries | USPS takes loose lithium batteries by ground only; abroad, only batteries inside devices. | Power banks limited to ground services in the US. |
| Australia: posting batteries | Australia Post flies lithium batteries only inside devices; loose ones go by road. | Battery items set to road services only. |
| Australia: button batteries | Goods with button or coin batteries need packaging warnings, and online listings should show one. | Battery warning block on those product pages. |
| UK: electrical waste | Electrical sellers offer free take-back or join the take-back scheme, and explain it online. | A recycling page linked from the footer. |
| Netherlands: 14-day withdrawal | Buyers can cancel within 14 days of delivery, using a withdrawal button and form. | Withdrawal form and returns flow linked from the account. |

FAQ
Your questions, answered.
What tech and phone accessories brands ask before starting a Shopify project.
Ask me about your storeCan Shopify filter accessories by phone model?
Yes. I store each device as a metaobject and link products to the devices they fit, then add that field as a filter with Shopify's Search & Discovery app. A device selector on the home page sends shoppers straight to their model.
Should each phone model be its own product or a variant?
Separate products per model tend to rank better for model searches and can have their own photos. One product with model variants keeps reviews and stock in one place. I recommend one or the other after looking at your range.
How do I ship power banks and battery items?
Put them in their own shipping profile with only the services that accept them. USPS takes loose lithium batteries by ground only and abroad only inside devices, and Australia Post flies lithium batteries only when they're installed in a device.
Can I sell in several countries and languages?
Yes. Shopify Markets handles currencies and local pricing, and Shopify's translation tools handle languages. 123TelecomShop runs in Dutch plus 10 languages on one store.
How much does a phone accessories store cost?
Store design and development starts from $300. The final price depends on the number of devices and products, the compatibility data work and your markets. You get one fixed quote after a free review.
Can I sell wholesale to repair shops and retailers?
Yes. Shopify B2B runs on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans, with company accounts, volume pricing, quantity rules and net payment terms on all of them.
Do I have to take back old chargers and cables?
In the UK, sellers of electrical products must offer free take-back or join the Distributor Take Back Scheme, and online sellers explain this on their website. The Netherlands has similar rules. Check with an adviser for your exact products.
